These two are from my sketchbook. The first is a girl at the haircut shop and the second was poor Dan Cooper {Art Director at WDFA} being assaulted by a drunk lady on the Metrolink.
These are from my gesture class when I had time to actually sit and draw with the students.

Hey Dave! I bloghopped here from Blackwing Diaries, and I remember that picture of the two old people and the cadillac. I was a student at CalArts when you two story guys came to give us a talk in 03.
That talk was really inspiring... I've since dropped out of school but have been working on things on my own, trying to get better in the story art field. Would you mind terribly if I dropped you an email?
Hey--great to see these, up and looking good!
: )
hey dave.
welcome to the blog family. looking forward to seeing your sketches!

Hey Dave. Great to see you blogging. I have to admit I'm a big fan. You, Tom Gately, and Joe Moshier's work in the Stanchfield notes was instrumental in my development as an artist. I can't wait to see more of your work.
Cheers
J

Great stuff! I especially love the second to last drawing!
Joe, Tom, Dave??? I haven't said those names in the same sentance since....well, yesterday! What about Stevie??? Man, them days are gems in my mind! Miss you Dave. You have come a long way since CalArts! You should post some of your old school work when we were there, and show how time changes your style, as well as polishes it.
