The Story Initiative at Dreamworks!!!

To all Applicants outside of the U.S. We have had and currently DO have trainees from abroad. It all depends on the work visas and stuff like that. I would suggest all these questions go to DW recruiting.  Info is on the page.  thanks!

    If you've got the time to answer, I was wondering if all applicants do the story test or is it only for those who pass the "portfolio phase"?

    Only applicants who pass the portfolio phase move on to take the story test.
    If the portfolio doesn't pass the applicant will not do the test.

    I hope this is clear- I don't want to mislead anyone.

    Hello!I'd like to say you have great and awesone work on blog. I do have a concern about the program though. It asks for 10 -40 sketches of 2 or 3 original projects to put in the porfolio. Is there a format that applicants have to follow in presenting that section of work in the portfolio? for example 3 or 6 panels/sketches per page.
    Id really appreciate your feedback on my question.

    "Sketches" equal story board panels. Don't let the numbers intimidate or control exactly what you should put in. My thought is put in thorough examples of story boarding so we can tell that you have a grasp of it. AND the amount should be no enough for us to gauge your ability. Hopefully you have at least what they are askjng for and more. Most students have films they're working on in school so that constitutes as original projects. You all need to show a beginning middle and end to the examples you show!
    The number of gestures, character designs, and life drawings should be put in at your comfort level. But the boards you put in will matter most!

    Again- they specify numbers for people who may not know what to pit in- but if you all want to design your portfolios differently make sure you follow my advice here. You must have story board examples that are complete ideas.

    So it says that the submission deadline is April 4th. Does that mean that it has to be at the studio on that day? Or if I mailed it, that it had to be postmarked by that day?
