Marissa Gomez strikes again!

Marissa is one of my favorite models. I only wish I had more time to draw her.

  1. Nice drawings! I especially like the 2nd and 3rd ones! How close was the 3rd sketch to the pose she was in? Always cool to see action poses from a life drawing session. :)

  3. Hello,

thanks for your comments. We always have fun with her.

    Marmax,

the third pose was actually very close to the real thing. She tied a rope to one of the student's drawing horse and pulled! The only thing I added was the over lap and spfx in the pose.

  7. One of the cool things about a good gesture is that it can pack a lot of information into very few lines. I think it's all there in these drawings: action, weight, attitude, and so on.

It's been so long since I've done gestures that I need to get back into it. I've been spending most of time learning how to do better caricatures.

Seems like there is never a shortage of things to learn!

I have been looking at your work for some time now in the Walt Stanchfield notes and had no idea you had a blog! I have learned SOOOO much from you and your fellow sketchers and have even started leading my own costumed drawing class at Nickelodeon! You have been a great inspiration to me! Thankyou.

I will be back here often.
